Encouragement Bags

Have you ever thought about filling a small bag of necessities for the homeless in our community? Perhaps you have seen people on street corner asking for help? Maybe someone came into your business and needed a snack as they have gone without food for a day?

Barnabas Vision in Murfreesboro is handing out weatherproof "Barnabas" bags that founder David Coggin calls "Encouragement Bags."

Coggin stated, "This is a simple project that can make a big difference. You can fill these up with protein bars, water, hand sanitizer, toothbrush/toothpaste, etc. and anything else that you think will be an encouragement to someone."

After you fill one, two or maybe ten bags, you are asked to store them in your car so that when you see someone in need, you can immediately hand them an "Encouragement Bag."

If you would like to pick empty bags up to fill, call 615-556-5134 and leave a message or click HERE to contact them through their website.
